Available in 4.5mm (.177) and 5.5mm (.22) calibres, the R-12 CLX Laminate offers versatility for different shooting needs . The .177 version delivers approximately 130 shots per fill, while .22 extends to around 205 shots with the standard 200cc bottle . Overall length measures 95 cm, and weight sits at 3.5 kg in laminate . The cold hammer-forged barrel comes shrouded and threaded 1/2 inch UNF. Fill pressure reaches 230 bar via a quick-fill probe . Therefore, shooters in Sweden, Finland, and Estonia should verify local energy limits before ordering.

The R-12 CLX Laminate’s defining feature is its Mono-block construction. BSA machines the entire action from a single piece of alloy, reducing components and improving reliability . Moreover, the CCS (Customer Configurable Shroud) system lets you choose between full shroud, silencer only, or both configurations . The 12-shot rotary magazine includes a shot countdown window for tracking remaining pellets, and the probe will not move fully forward after the last shot fires . Consequently, shooters maintain rapid follow-up capability during pest control or target sessions. The short-stroke side lever cycles smoothly with minimal effort, and BSA designed it based on direct consumer feedback . The three-way adjustable trigger allows tuning for length, lateral, and radial position. Two magazines come supplied as standard .

Owners report several consistent issues worth knowing. Magazine problems have appeared, with pellets falling back into the action and causing jams in .177 and .22 . Some users report the mags sticking, failing to fire the last shot, or sticking mid-round . BSA has revised the rotor and O-ring thickness on newer magazines, but older versions may still cause issues . Quality control problems have occurred, with one owner reporting pellets falling to the ground at 10 to 15 metres and two pellets stuck in the barrel; BSA replaced the entire rifle . Therefore, owner feedback suggests testing your rifle thoroughly upon receipt and confirming magazine version.

Pellet choice significantly impacts the R-12 CLX’s accuracy. Owners report excellent results with BSA Goldstar pellets, achieving tight groups at 45 metres . Moreover, the cold hammer-forged barrel proves remarkably pellet-tolerant, performing well with JSB Exact and H&N Field Target Trophy . Some shooters find QYS pellets deliver exceptional results in BSA barrels . The regulated system delivers consistent velocities throughout the fill, with minimal extreme spread . Accuracy remains excellent within the usable pressure range. The 12-shot magazine feeds pellets reliably once broken in. Consequently, test multiple pellet types to find what your individual barrel prefers. One reviewer recorded pellet-on-pellet accuracy at 30 metres with the .177 rifle.
