The defining feature of the Genesis G6 Hunter is its illuminated Circle Dot reticle. This design enables rapid target acquisition, particularly for moving targets at close range . Moreover, the reticle illumination comes in both red and blue, with blue being particularly effective in low-light conditions . The rheostat sits on the left side and houses a CR2032 battery. The scope features capped turrets with 0.5 MOA adjustments for elevation and windage. The second focal plane design keeps the reticle size constant throughout the magnification range . Consequently, the scope adapts well to different shooting scenarios and lighting conditions.

Owners report several considerations worth knowing. The scope is designed primarily for centre-fire rifles, and some airgun shooters find the parallax fixed at 100 yards, which can cause slight focus issues at closer airgun ranges. Moreover, while the 1-6x magnification suits close-range work, it offers limited magnification for precision target shooting beyond 50 metres. Some users note that the illumination system, while functional, adds weight compared to non-illuminated alternatives. The scope mounts are not included, requiring separate purchase of 30mm rings. A few owners mention that the capped turrets, while protected, are less convenient for quick adjustments in the field. Therefore, owner feedback suggests confirming your intended use matches the scope’s design parameters.

The BSA Genesis G6 Hunter performs best with quality pellets in airgun applications. Owners report good results with JSB Exact and H&N Field Target Trophy in .177 and .22 calibres. Moreover, the Circle Dot reticle excels for rapid target engagement at close to medium ranges. The 1-6x magnification range covers typical airgun hunting distances effectively. Accuracy remains consistent when the scope is properly mounted and zeroed. The 89% light transmission ensures a bright image, even at 6x magnification. Consequently, test the scope at your intended shooting distances to confirm parallax settings suit your needs. One owner reported effective use on an air rifle for pest control at ranges up to 40 metres.

The BSA Genesis G6 Hunter 1-6x24IR represents solid value in a versatile illuminated scope. It offers a 30mm tube, Circle Dot reticle, and dual-colour illumination. Purchase from a reputable European retailer with warranty support and knowledge of local regulations. Consider adding 30mm scope rings with appropriate height for your airgun’s dovetail or Picatinny rail. A spare CR2032 battery ensures uninterrupted illumination. A lens cleaning cloth and protective scope covers help maintain optical clarity. Therefore, check your rifle’s mounting system before ordering, as rings are not included.
